The cabin was built by Molly & Pop, overlooking the cove in order to give the feeling of being on the water. Indeed, when the tide is high you can convince yourself that you’re on the bridge of a ship, rather than in a cozy cabin by the sea.
The deck overlooks rocks that are nearly submerged during a “neep” tide. The view from the deck is shown below.
